Physical Therapy & Allied Health
The ever-growing Physiologix Allied Health Services team is an excellent choice for Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, Psychology, Podiatry, and Acupuncture. What sets us apart?
We have innovated a unique way to provide these services with the goal of optimizing patient outcomes. Traditionally, therapists work in isolation. At Physiologix, when you see a therapist, the door is open for you to access our team of medical specialists and diagnostic imaging. This fits with our philosophy of establishing a clear diagnosis to guide effective treatment.
Whether the symptoms are from a motor vehicle accident, sports injury, or wear-and-tear, our access to the Physiologix Medical Specialists gives up the unique ability to offer combined and collaborative services like the Trigger Point Injection Program and top level diagnostics. Doctors, feel free to direct your patients to our team when the need arises, and patients, feel free to call us for an appointment. Note, a doctor's referral is not required for Allied Health Services, but can be helpful and may be required by insurance companies, etc.
Our Physical Therapy team is fully integrated with our Medical Specialists and Diagnostic Imaging so patients receive the expedited diagnostic clarity they need to guide effective treatment.
We accept most insurance plans and direct billing is available for some. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-833-4CALLPX (1-833-422-5579).
How About Spinal Decompression?
For mild to moderate pain treatment
Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment option for patients experiencing mild to moderate back pain. Pain in the lumbar (low back) region can be caused by degenerated intervertebral discs, arthritis in the facets, pressure on nerves, tight or spasming muscles, and more. This type of therapy is used to reduce the pressure on overloaded, painful structures.
What is Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy?
Non-invasive treatment
Also known as ESWT, shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment option for musculoskeletal conditions that have failed to respond to conservative treatment. ESWT uses technology similar to lithotripsy in an attempt to relieve musculoskeletal symptoms of the specified area. Some tissues in the body respond to a mechanical stress with a healing response.
One way of directing a mechanical stress to a specific body part is through the use of focused ultrasound waves known as shockwaves. Some conditions that can benefit from this type of treatment include bursitis, tendinopathy, iliotibial band syndrome, spasticity, trigger points, and others.
Our Unique Clinical Optimizations
Short wait times
Expedited Medical Specialist Assessment: We prioritize clear diagnosis to make treatment efficient and effective. Our Physical Therapists are uniquely positioned to coordinate electrodiagnostic testing, diagnostic imaging, and assessments by any of the Medical Specialists.
Facilitated Rehabilitation: Patient care is facilitated by easy availability of medication prescription, brace prescription, interventional procedures, and psychological assessment, as needed.
Comprehensive Allied Health: Massage therapy, acupuncture, psychology, and podiatry are all available as necessary. Finding relief for pain can be difficult and challenging. At Physiologix, we consider the patient's physical, psychological, and emotional health when diagnosing and treating pain.
Typically, there are multiple factors causing pain and medications alone are often not enough. Pain symptoms can be triggered or worsened by stress, anxiety, grief, and other emotional factors. Best practice treatment plans should be multidisciplinary and involve physicians working closely with allied health providers.
Our practitioners strive to provide relief and treatment plans centred around the end goal of providing patients with education and tools for self-management. Come in to see us and rest assured that you can have access to the highest level of collaborative care available.

What is Massage Therapy?
Effective for stress, pain, and muscle tension
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body. Soft tissues include: muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints.
Massage therapy can be effective for reducing stress, pain, and muscle tension. In conjunction with other health services, massage therapy is a great way to speed up your body's healing process, as well as prevent certain conditions from coming back.
Registered massage therapists use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy to combine techniques and customize each session to their client's needs.
What is Acupuncture?
Traditional medicine, modern methods
A vital component in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine which has found an evidence-base in Western medicine. Ultra-fine needles are inserted in specific defined meridians of the body to treat and prevent a variety of conditions.
Acupuncture points are usually where nerves, muscles, and connective tissue can be stimulated. Over the course of thousands of years, acupuncture has proved effective for pain management, dysfunction of specific organs and systems, nausea, insomnia, fatigue, hypertension, stress, tendonitis, TMJ, and sciatica.
